Marseille Beat Strasbourg with Payet and Guendouzi scoring 3-1

Marseille have ended their run of three consecutive defeats in Ligue 1 as they beat Strasbourg 3-1 at Stade Vélodrome on Sunday.

Goals from Florian Thauvin, Dimitri Payet and Romain Gall saw the home side secure all three points and move up to sixth place in the table.

Strasbourg had taken the lead through Maxime Lopez before half-time but were unable to hold onto their advantage.

Thauvin's goal was his first for Marseille since joining the club last summer from Lille.

Payet, who is set to become France's new captain following Didier Deschamps' retirement, also scored twice for Marseille, while Gall's goal was his first for the club this season.

The win means that Marseille will now look to build on this result when they host Monaco next week.
