TSG Hoffenheim have secured their place in the Bundesliga after securing a hard-fought 2-1 victory over VfL Bochum on Sunday.

The game was closely contested from start to finish and it took until the 75th minute for TSG to break the deadlock through a header from the left by Benjamin Pavard. Just four minutes later, however, Bochum equalised through a well-taken goal from the penalty spot after a handball by Benjamin Mendy.

However, TSG did not give up and they were rewarded with a second goal just five minutes later when Kevin Trapp made a fine save to deny Bochum's best chance of winning the game before Benjamin Kramarić scored his first league goal for the club to put TSG in front.

Bochum had one final attempt at a late equaliser but Benjamin Mendy's header hit the crossbar as TSG held on to secure all three points and move into fifth position in the table.

Kramarić's brace was a much-needed boost for the team following their recent run of three games without a win. The forward has been in good form this season and his goals will be crucial as TSG look to challenge for a top-four finish in the coming weeks.
